If you're curious about cold plunge therapy, sauna, red light therapy, or compression massage — but aren’t sure what it’s actually like to walk through our doors — this guide is for you.

Before You Arrive

Booking is simple through our website or social channels via the Vagaro platform. Whether you're trying a day pass or using a membership, you'll be able to select a "session launch time" that grants you full access to our studio's offerings. For first-time users, you will be prompted to complete our digital waiver form. We recommend arriving a few minutes early for your session so you can get familiar with the space.

What to Bring

  • A bathing suit or water-friendly clothes.

  • Your favorite towel (we have plenty on-site if you forget).

  • Flip-flops or slides (we have some basic flip-flops if needed).

  • Water or a water bottle to fill during your session.

  • Most importantly, bring your positive energy!

Step 1: Check In & Get Comfortable

When you arrive at Plunge Boston, a team member will greet you. They will walk you through the flow of the space and answer any questions. We’ve designed the studio to be a clean, calming environment where you can shift gears and focus on yourself.

Not sure where to start? We’ll help tailor a wellness routine based on your goals — whether that’s muscle recovery, stress reduction, boosting circulation, or just relaxing.

Step 2: Choose Your Flow – Cold, Hot, Red Light, Compression, Mobility?

Most people start with either red light therapy or Normatec compression while they are still dry. Then, they progress into their desired contrast routine between the cold and hot temperatures of our cold tubs and saunas.

Cold Plunge Therapy

Step into our state-of-the-art cold tubs, chilled to the optimal temperature for recovery and inflammation reduction. Most guests spend between 2–5 minutes in the plunge. If it’s your first time, start slow — and breathe. We’ll coach you through it.

Sauna Session

Our dry sauna promotes detoxification, improves circulation, and helps relax tight muscles. Sessions typically last 15–25 minutes. You can pair it with a cold plunge for a classic contrast therapy experience.

Pro tip: Many of our regulars love to alternate between hot and cold 2–3 times to maximize benefits.

Step 3: Try Our Add-On Therapies

After your plunge, sauna, red light, and Normatec experience, you can also enjoy:

  • Bodywork (by appointment): Deep tissue, sports recovery, or mobility-focused sessions with licensed professionals.

Step 4: Cool Down & Reflect

Once your session wraps up, take your time in our lounge space to hydrate, breathe, and let the effects settle in. Many members report feeling calm, energized, and mentally clear after their visit — like hitting a reset button for both body and mind.
